The statement is not the start of due diligence. Product scope, traceability information, risk assessment and any necessary mitigation should already be organised.
Information System
The EU Information System is the operational environment used for due-diligence statement workflows. In 2026 the Commission adopted additional measures simplifying submission, including provisions for simplified declarations for eligible micro or small primary operators.
Internal recordkeeping
Keep the DDS reference together with supplier evidence, geolocation, classification work, risk assessment and approval records so the transaction can be reconstructed later.
